March 12, 2021
If you didn’t already know, inflammation can take a serious toll on your health, with negative impacts ranging from a weakened immune system to the development of chronic disorders. And that damage can also affect the health of your skin. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Anna H. Chacon, MD FAAD explains to PureWow that since it can raise the body’s cortisol levels, chronic low-grade inflammation (which is called inflammaging) can accelerate the skin’s natural aging process.
